Lose something?

Lose something?

There was a time when you left something precious on the subway or bus and you pretty much kissed it good-bye.  The MTA has been working to improve this process, using their web presence.   Assuming it was turned in, you can fill in a web form and try to get it back.

Now, if my bankcard would work at most stations when I really need to buy a metrocard… I’d be a happy camper.

MTA alerts improved

MTA alerts improved

In the last week or so, it seems the MTA has improved its alerting system.  I don’t currently get them on my cell, but I’ve gotten numerous alerts of delays or outages via email.  You sign up for the lines that you take/care about.

Then you get numerous messages about when there is a sick customer, or a smoke condition, or whatever.  They are nice enough to alert you again when it clears up.  Not 100% sure how timely it is, but it seems to be improved.  This could save you that horrible hourlong wait for a train that isn’t coming.
