Just got this in an email from Ian, a poker buddy. Figured you all might want to know what was that thing you all ate (and might still be eating).

In the last week or so, it seems the MTA has improved its alerting system. I don’t currently get them on my cell, but I’ve gotten numerous alerts of delays or outages via email. You sign up for the lines that you take/care about.
Then you get numerous messages about when there is a sick customer, or a smoke condition, or whatever. They are nice enough to alert you again when it clears up. Not 100% sure how timely it is, but it seems to be improved. This could save you that horrible hourlong wait for a train that isn’t coming.
